Professional Objectives:

To become a research scientist for a government laboratory (NRL,HRD,GSFC,LANL) utilizing remote sensing to understand tropical cyclone dynamics.

To utilize the understanding of tropical cyclone dynamics in applied problems related to energy and protection of life and property.

Education:

B.S. Meteorology (Iowa State University 2004)

M.S. Meteorology (Florida State University 2007)

Doctoral Candidate (Florida State University ~2010)

Work Experience:

Research Assistant ( Center for Ocean-Atmospheric Prediction Studies 2004-present)

Office of Naval Research Intern ( Naval Research Laboratory--Monterey,CA summer of 2005 and 2006)

Research:

My research involves understanding tropical cyclone structure and intensity change with a focus on using remotely sensed observations (radar and satellite) to describe the dynamics of the storm. One specific goal of my work is to understand the impacts of deep convective clouds in the hurricane.
