About me:
I am a native Floridian, born and raised in South Florida. I have always had a fascination with science and a passion for severe weather phenomena. I began my college career in the Fall of 2001 as an undergraduate at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, FL. I started out as an Aerospace Engineer, realizing early on that I had something more interesting to pursue: Meteorology! I transferred to Embry-Riddle's Applied Meteorology program with an area of concentration in Research. I graduated in the Spring of 2005 and was accepted into graduate school shortly thereafter at Florida State University. While at FSU, I was offered a Research Assistant position at COAPS in the summer of 2006.

Currently, I am doing research under Dr. Mark Bourassa and COAPS Director Dr. Eric Chassignet. The topic of my research deals with the analysis and statistical comparison of multiple air-sea flux models and their respective output based on a 19 year global oceanic dataset. The most comprehensive dataset I am working with is known as the CORE (Coordinated Ocean Reference Experiment) version 2 (Large and Yeager, 2004). This year, it is expected that a newer version of the correction algorithm known as CIAF (Corrected Interannual Forcing) and CNYF (Corrected Normal Year Forcing) will be released. Such flux models and parameterizations to be looked at include: Bourassa (2006), COARE [Coupled Ocean-Atmosphere Response Experiment, Fairall et al. (1996a, 1996b, 2003)] version 3, HEXOS [Humidity Exchange Over the Sea, Smith et al. (1992, 1996)], Kara et al. (2005), Large and Pond (1981), Large et al. (1994), Smith (1988), and Taylor and Yelland (2001).
