20th Century Reanalysis V2
-
The 20th Century Reanalysis V221 builds upon the 20th Century Reanalysis V1, which spanned 1908-1958. The 20th Century Reanalysis V1 and V2 are independent of the NCEP/NCAR GR, which the NARR database is based on. The 20th Century reanalyses take data at surface pressure level and reconstruct the atmospheric structure globally at different levels (mb) and at six-hour intervals (0, 6, 12, and 18 UTC). The study has many surface and atmospheric measurements, such as temperature and geopotential height, which might be useful for climate change studies. The analyses are available at a 180-km grid spacing.
